Ashes to Ashes
Stardust glimmers patterns
of eternity along a moonlit sky,
falling in loops and curves
at my feet, fearing seclusion.
The night turns ashes of grey,
colour failing this, the ceiling
of our thought, the moon
a crescent bubbling behind
the charcoal clouds.
Hope flees this battle scene,
joy runs fast on its heel
as despair murmurs, blowing
softy on my mind.
